Jorge Macias serves clients across Nassau, Suffolk, and New York City with a wealth of experience in the criminal justice system. His background as a narcotics detective for the NYPD and his tenure as an attorney with Suffolk County Legal Aid have equipped him with invaluable insights. Jorge excels in distilling complex information into clear strategies, ensuring thorough case investigations that lead to positive outcomes for many clients. While proficient as a litigator across all facets of criminal law, he has particular expertise in drug-related cases—especially those involving direct transactions between individuals. Additionally, Jorge is knowledgeable in immigration law; he tailors his approach to address the unique challenges faced by undocumented individuals seeking representation today. Understanding the critical overlap between criminal and immigration issues drove him to refine these skills at one of Long Island's leading immigration firms.
In terms of education, Jorge earned his associate degree while serving actively in the United States Marine Corps before completing his bachelor's degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He then pursued legal studies at Touro Law Center where he participated actively as a clinician specializing in Family Law and rights advocacy for veterans and servicemembers.
Outside professional commitments, Jorge enjoys quality time with his family—including coaching his son’s soccer team during game season—as well as contributing to community efforts through assisting league operations within youth sports programs.
