Young Jr. began his legal career alongside John B. Odum on the fifth floor of the Strickland Building in Valdosta as an associate attorney. By 1943, they rebranded as Odum & Young and maintained a general practice until John Odum's passing in 1951; thereafter Cam continued under that name until it transitioned again in 1955. In 1962 F. Thomas Young—Cam’s son—joined forces with him and they redefined their identity to Young & Young while expanding both their service offerings and geographic reach across Georgia’s legal landscape.
When Cam retired in1994 after years of dedicated service that saw the firm grow to ten attorneys actively practicing statewide; Tom followed suit with his retirement occurring later in2001..
