Abolitionist Law Center

The Abolitionist Law Center (ALC) operates as a dedicated nonprofit legal organization committed to advocating for the rights of inmates and supporters of abolition. Additionally, we engage in community outreach with the vision of creating a society devoid of police and prisons. Based in Pennsylvania, our efforts involve litigation against the Department of Corrections, local detention facilities, and state authorities to protect individuals from mistreatment while striving for widespread release opportunities. Our advocacy spans across the state, focusing on dismantling solitary confinement practices and terminating life sentences without parole—often referred to as death by incarceration—among other critical issues.
