Before embarking on his legal career in 2014, Adam M. Tavares served as a councilmanic aide for Julissa Ferreras, who represents the 21st District. In this role, he provided valuable assistance to numerous constituents and identified a pressing need within the Hispanic community for proficient Spanish-speaking attorneys. Since establishing himself as an immigration lawyer, Mr. Tavares has successfully guided hundreds of immigrants through various immigration challenges. He founded the Law Offices of Adam M. Tavares in 2017 after spending four years at the Law Offices of David M. Sperling—recognized as Long Island's largest provider of legal services dedicated to immigrants in New York State. Committed to serving his community, Mr. Tavares is actively involved in Hispanic affairs; he previously held the position of President at the DREAM Foundation and currently serves as Treasurer with The Long Island Hispanic Bar Association—a group known for its charitable efforts that included providing $40,000 in scholarships aimed at undocumented students pursuing higher education back in 2017. As a first-generation American with immigrant roots and being fluent in Spanish since childhood, Mr.Tavares uniquely understands and advocates for those he serves.
