Founded in 1949, The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) serves as a prominent national nonprofit organization comprising about 2,400 esteemed attorneys and legal educators from across the United States and internationally. ACTEC’s distinguished members, known as Fellows, are chosen by their peers based on their high levels of professional integrity and specialization in areas such as will preparation, trust creation, estate planning, probate processes, trust managements among other related fields. The organization is dedicated to advancing the reform of laws governing probate practices, trusts,, taxation procedures alongside enhancing professional standards within these sectors. Although ACTEC often provides expert technical feedback on legislative matters and regulatory frameworks it maintains a neutral stance regarding policy debates or political agendas.
