About
Founded 1971
Established in 1971, the AFBNJ emerged from the vision of esteemed attorneys and legal leaders. Recognizing an essential need for collaboration among judges, private bar attorneys, and federal law enforcement representatives, our founders aimed to foster professional relationships through training and support. The organization is led by seven officers alongside a 40-member Board of Trustees that captures diverse attorney representation across New Jersey’s various practice areas, supplemented by an Advisory Board comprising past presidents and judges. Key events hosted by AFBNJ that bridge connections between the federal judiciary and legal practitioners include:
- The United States District Court Judicial Conference
- The William J. Brennan Jr. Award ceremony
- The William H. Gindin Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference
- Continuing Legal Education sessions
- Brown Bag Seminar Luncheons
- Networking opportunities for young lawyers
