About
Founded 1988
The Indian Legal Program (ILP) at Arizona State University's Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law was founded in 1988 with the mission of delivering comprehensive legal education, advancing scholarship focused on Indian law, and providing service to tribal communities. This program equips students with the necessary skills to advocate for Native peoples while fostering a deep appreciation for the distinct differences between tribal legal systems and those governed by state and federal authorities. Currently regarded as one of the premier Native law programs across the United States, ILP graduates are employed in various capacities within tribal, state, and federal governments as well as private practice settings. The ILP offers an array of unique academic experiences alongside clinical training opportunities for its students while nurturing valuable relationships with American Indian Nations and other Indigenous governmental bodies. This LinkedIn page serves as a resource hub where current students, alumni, prospective enrollees—and anyone interested in Indian law—can connect with faculty members and fellow peers about social events or job openings related to scholarships or fellowships available in this field.
