Realizing that more funding was necessary for continued assistance through VCF programs, Michael Barasch took action alongside labor union advocates and community members in an effort aimed at expanding resources available for this population. As a result of these collective efforts in 2015, Congress successfully reauthorized extensions under The Zadroga Act—securing funding increases including an additional $4 billion; however it remained limited until December 2020. From October 2018 through June ofthe following year,michael along with his committed team at Barasch & McGarry partnered extensively with volunteers affiliated with FealGood Foundation—to amplify voices within our cherished community comprising ill responders as well as downtown workers residing near where those towers once stood—all striving towards better recognition amidst legislative hurdles faced since then.Mike proudly participated throughout these critical moments such when senators voted affirmatively - ultimately witnessing signing ceremonies hosted by President marking lasting protections derived therefrom!
