His background includes hands-on courtroom exposure as an assistant solicitor for the First Judicial Circuit and serving as a Law Clerk under the esteemed Honorable JC Nicholson, Jr. A proud third-generation member of Charleston's community, Trey's familial ties run deep; he is not only the grandson of Commissioner Robert W. "Bob" Harrell, Sr., who once led SCDOT as Highway Commissioner but also the son of former Speaker Robert W. "Bobby" Harrell Jr., who held leadership in South Carolina’s House of Representatives.
