At the helm is Mark Sullivan, a retired JAG colonel from the Army Reserve who proudly holds certification as a Family Law Specialist by the North Carolina State Bar. Joining him is Kris Hilscher, who has been exclusively practicing family law in Raleigh since 2012 and also boasts Board-Certified Specialty recognition in this area of law. An accomplished author, Mark penned "The Military Divorce Handbook" (ABA; 3rd Edition - 2019) to guide families through complex cases involving military service members. Our legal team consists solely of attorneys licensed within North Carolina’s jurisdiction: Vanessa Puhak serves as our senior associate; her background includes being an Army officer herself and having experienced life as a military spouse before gaining admission to practice here in 2017—focusing on issues like domestic violence and international child abduction within family law matters. Sarah Gerow joined our firm after being admitted to practice in NC in 2019 and draws motivation from her own experience as part of a military family to advocate passionately for servicemembers alongside their partners.
