About
Founded 2012
The West Virginia Innocence Project, based at the West Virginia University College of Law, functions as a legal clinic dedicated to assisting and exonerating wrongly convicted individuals in West Virginia. In addition to providing direct support for the innocent, WVIP actively addresses systemic issues that contribute to wrongful convictions through advocacy work and community education initiatives. The team is comprised of six to eight third-year law students (3Ls), four or five undergraduate interns, one staff attorney, and a program director who together drive this critical mission forward.
