The law society directory lists all the lawyers located in the province. In Ontario, it also lists paralegals. That is because Ontario licenses its paralegals. Anyone can be a paralegal in places like British Columbia or Alberta. If you are looking for a directory, you might be looking to hire a lawyer.
If you contact us, we can connect you with two different lawyers for a free consultation. Our service is free for you to use. We take your information and pass it off to the lawyers or law firms. Let’s say you need a family lawyer in Vancouver who can attend court for you.
We will send your information to a lawyer, or two, that can help you with this.
It’s an excellent service that people love. Taking your best guess on what a good lawyer looks like on Google is simply not good enough anymore. We can connect you to a lawyer that can help anywhere in Ontario and British Columbia.
You can see the areas of law that the lawyers practice under the “areas of law” tab. Our contact information is below. Reach out to us and we will have a lawyer near you call you at that time.
Lawyer Profiles
In the near future, we want to build something even better. We want to build an online directory where people can search for a lawyer’s profiles. The profile will show a rating for the lawyer, and if they ever got in trouble in the past.
Also, the lawyers will be able to answer short free questions on their profiles. If they do this, it will increase their rating. This would be a better way for people to find a lawyer. Right now the ways to find a law firm are extremely limited. We know we can do better.
These sorts of companies exist in the USA. However, we have been unable to find anything like it in Canada, Australia, or England. We are tired of Canadians always being a decade behind the USA. It’s time for improvement! now!

This is the problem with the law society. This is why innovation only happens during a crisis, like COVID-19. Practice advisors will never encourage a lawyer to take on some risk (no matter how low) in the spirit of advancing the legal industry.
Our position has always been to do what is in the best interests of the public. We feel that as long as the lawyers do the same, they will never get in trouble.
There is no case law for this sort of thing in Canada. Companies like Avvo, Best Lawyers, and Martindale went through state bar citations in the US. They won based on the “best interests of the public” argument.
Law Society Innovation
In Canada, 64% of people don’t hire a lawyer. It’s not all because of cost. The legal industry (courts, lawyers, law society) are old school. What happened to the taxi industry will happen to law firms. Even Clio has had law society problems. It was resolved without conflict.
Of course, many law society rules make perfect sense. Lawyers cannot misappropriate trust funds. Also, people should be licensed as a lawyer to give legal advice.
We cannot have random people giving out legal advice. If people could practice law without going to law school and passing the bar, no one would get qualified.
We have seen what happened when immigration consultants took over that industry. We will continue to fight for the best interests of the public. If the law society ever wants to take the position to keep the law in the past, they will be doomed to fail.
See an example of confusing language from the law society below. In one paragraph, they manage to contradict themselves twice.
