911 was called for an ambulance due to my medical emergency, which turned out to be a stroke and diabetic complications, confirmed by testing and doctors after my release, but RCMP arrived instead. My life was in danger. I stayed calm the moment they arrived, but I do remember telling all the officers that I am diabetic, have a brain injury and partial hearing loss. I told them at least 2 times that I couldn’t hear what they were saying, and my girlfriend told them this as well. The officers taunted me with my insulin/tester case while not under arrest. I told them “I don’t want to die in a cell, I need my kit”. I asked them 10 or 20 times. I also asked for a supervisor 10 – 20 times but was told “no” many times... It felt like forever until they gave me my kit then I calmly turned myself in to them and said, “don’t hurt me, I will go with you”
