Salimah F. Janmohamed, a barrister & solicitor, brings a wealth of corporate and banking law experience from her tenure at an international law firm in the city. A graduate of the University of Calgary's faculty of law, Ms. Janmohamed earned recognition with the Campbell McLaurin Achievement Award and the Alberta Provincial Judges Award of Merit. She was admitted to the Alberta bar in 2005 and holds memberships with the Law Society of Alberta and the American College of Investment Counsel.
Passionate about environmental stewardship and advocating for reduced greenhouse gas emissions, Ms. Janmohamed is currently pursuing a Master of Laws program at the University of Calgary, focusing on natural resources, energy, and the environment. Her research centers on the regulation of carbon offset markets in Alberta.
Ms. Janmohamed's commitment to community service is evident through her involvement with various legal, educational, and community organizations. She serves on the board of directors of the Mount Royal University Foundation and has volunteered with the Ismaili Council for the Prairies. Additionally, she contributes her expertise as a resource lawyer with Student Legal Assistance and within her local community.
