Michael Henry

Mike brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the legal field, with a JD from the University of Calgary and an Honors Business Administration degree from Western University. He is admitted to the bar in Alberta, showcasing his commitment to serving the local community.

In his practice, Mike focuses on various industries including oil and gas, power, renewables, and technology. His areas of expertise include commercial agreements, corporate reorganizations, energy, environmental, social, and governance (ESG), private equity, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mike's experience spans asset and share acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures, corporate reorganizations, and negotiating and drafting commercial agreements. He also provides counsel on corporate governance, due diligence, and general corporate and commercial matters.

Mike is actively involved in the legal community, serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Calgary Roadrunners Club. He is also a member of several professional associations including the Law Society of Alberta, Canadian Bar Association, and Calgary Bar Association.

Throughout his career, Mike has worked on numerous high-profile transactions, including ARC Resources Ltd.'s $8.1 billion combination with Seven Generations Energy and Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P's $6.8 billion acquisition of Inter Pipeline Ltd. He has also been involved in Greenfire Acquisition Corporation's acquisition of Japan Canada Oil Sands Limited and Tourmaline Oil Corp.'s $205 million acquisition of assets from Saguaro Resources Ltd.

In addition to his legal practice, Mike is a published author, with articles on various topics including incentives for CCUS in Alberta, regulatory frameworks for CCUS, government regulations, digitization in the energy industry, artificial intelligence in the Canadian oil patch, and Alberta's focus on critical minerals.
