Paul leads Fasken's Real Estate group from their Calgary office, offering expertise on complex real estate transactions. His work encompasses advising on the acquisition and disposal of various property types, arranging mortgage financing, and handling leasing, development, and planning issues.

His client roster is impressive, featuring pension funds, life insurance companies, significant landlords, and institutional lenders. Paul's knack for negotiating leases and subleases across office, industrial, and commercial spaces benefits both local and global clients.

In the realm of energy, Paul's guidance extends to transactions in both conventional and renewable sectors, including the development of power plants and infrastructure for wind, solar, and hydroelectric projects, as well as project financing and transactions involving shares and assets.

One of Paul's notable transactions involved representing a consortium in selling Gulf Canada Square, a major office and retail complex in Calgary, for C$382 million, including the assumption of an existing mortgage bond facility. He also played a key role in the sale of the Altius Centre and has been instrumental in site acquisitions and development financing for a prominent Calgary office complex.

In the financing sector, Paul has acted for major landlords in securing term financing for Alberta office projects and has represented Schedule 1 Canadian Charter Banks in financing projects ranging from medical buildings to shopping centers.

His expertise in the energy sector includes advising a renewable energy firm on acquiring several solar and wind projects, handling complex ground leases, and negotiating development agreements for energy infrastructure projects.

Paul's legal prowess has been recognized in Chambers Canada and The Best Lawyers in Canada, where he's been listed for his excellence in Real Estate Law. Additionally, he's been acknowledged by Lexpert for his proficiency in Property Leasing.

Among his recent client work, Paul advised Worley Group Inc. on the sale of its North American maintenance and turnaround business and facilitated the sale of Fleet Brake Parts & Services Limited, significantly impacting the heavy-duty trucking industry.

Educationally, Paul obtained his LLB from the University of Alberta and holds a BA in History from the University of Calgary. His arrival at Fasken was highlighted in Canadian Lawyer Magazine, marking a significant addition to the firm's Calgary office and its Real Estate Group's leadership.
