Sierra Yanush

Sierra Yanush brings a wealth of experience to her role as an associate at our firm, specializing exclusively in family law matters. Her journey into family law began during her time at Legal Aid Alberta while studying law, where she discovered her passion for helping individuals find practical solutions to their legal issues.

At the heart of Sierra's practice is her commitment to building strong relationships with her clients. She believes in clear communication and strives to ensure that her clients fully understand their options every step of the way. Whether appearing in court or pursuing alternative dispute resolution methods, Sierra is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Trained as a mediator through the Alberta Family Mediation Society and as an arbitrator through the National Family Law Arbitration Course, Sierra offers mediation and arbitration services at a reduced hourly rate. She is skilled at guiding parties towards settlement agreements outside the courtroom, providing a cost-effective and efficient alternative for resolving disputes.

In addition to her legal practice, Sierra is actively involved in the legal community. She was elected to the Canadian Bar Association – Family Law South Executive in 2020 and continues to serve in this role. Sierra is also a published author and has lectured for the Legal Education Society of Alberta on various family law topics.

Sierra's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy from Queen’s University and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Wilfrid Laurier University. She obtained her law degree from the University of Calgary and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2016.

Outside of work, Sierra enjoys exploring the mountains, reading fantasy novels, and spending quality time with her three sisters. She is actively involved in her community, volunteering her time with the Wildwood Community Association Board of Directors and the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, among other organizations.
