John McCammon

John, now an integral member of Osler's Litigation group, embarked on his legal journey after an illustrious academic tenure at the University of Saskatchewan, where he not only secured his J.D. with Great Distinction but also completed degrees in Engineering and Science. His multidisciplinary background is complemented by his proficiency in English, enabling him to navigate complex legal and technical discussions with ease.

Before stepping into the legal arena, John applied his technical skills in the software development sector, contributing to projects for a publicly-traded company. This experience provided him with a unique perspective on the intersection of technology, business, and law.

Transitioning to law, John's path took him to the prestigious Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa, where he honed his legal acumen as a law clerk. This role deepened his understanding of appellate processes and judicial reasoning, setting a solid foundation for his future in litigation.

At Osler, John specializes in corporate and commercial litigation, alongside tax law, focusing particularly on tax controversy and litigation. His expertise spans several key industries, including chemicals, energy, and mining and natural resources, reflecting a broad understanding of the challenges and nuances within these sectors.

John's commitment to the legal profession extends beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. While in law school, he engaged in pro bono work with CLASSIC in Saskatoon, demonstrating his dedication to serving the community and providing legal assistance to those in need. Additionally, his participation in the Davies Corporate/Securities Moot showcased his competitive spirit and legal prowess, further preparing him for the complexities of litigation.
