Pierce Quaghebeur

Pierce Quaghebeur, a dedicated CPA, CA, actively contributes to Miller Thomson’s Corporate Tax, Private Client, and M&A groups. Collaborating with his team, Pierce ensures seamless handling of clients’ tax planning, transactions, reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions.

Pierce’s practice spans various areas:

In corporate tax law, he delves into succession planning, corporate reorganizations, and restructuring for private corporations.

In mergers and acquisitions, Pierce represents both buyers and sellers in Canadian private corporation transactions.

In corporate/commercial law, he assists with unanimous shareholder agreements, trademark applications, and general business matters.

Pierce's professional journey includes completing the CPA In-Depth Tax Course in 2022 and becoming a registered trademark agent in 2021.

Before joining Miller Thomson, Pierce honed his skills at a local Edmonton firm, where he worked closely with diverse clients to achieve their goals. Prior to law school, he gained valuable experience in audit and assurance at a national accounting firm.

In recognition of his achievements, Pierce serves as a Registered Trademark Agent since 2021 and has completed all three years of the In-Depth Tax Course by Chartered Professional Accountants, Canada.

Community involvement is integral to Pierce's ethos. He has volunteered with the PBSC Tax Advocacy Program, taking on roles as Volunteer Coordinator in 2018 and Volunteer in 2017. Additionally, he has contributed to the CBA Business Law (North) Section Executive in 2021.

Pierce is an active member of several professional associations, including the Canadian Bar Association, Law Society of Alberta, Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta, and Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.

He holds a J.D. from the University of Alberta, with bar admission in Alberta in 2019. Pierce is also a Chartered Accountant since 2015, and he graduated with a B.Comm. (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta in 2012.
