Kristy Kalin

Kristy R. Kalin, a Calgary native, embarked on her legal career with enthusiasm in July 2020, joining the ranks of Kahane's skilled team. Her academic journey began with an English degree, focusing on writing from the University of Calgary, and culminated in law studies at Cardiff University, Wales. There, Kristy's involvement ranged from leadership roles in the Canadian Student’s Association to athletic participation on the Cardiff Rowing team, alongside creative pursuits and a significant contribution to the NHS Continuing Healthcare Pro Bono program.

Upon returning from the UK, Kristy achieved her Certificate of Qualification from Canada's National Committee of Accreditation, collaborating with Max Blitt, K.C., in 2018 to publish a paper on minimizing trauma in child abduction cases.

Her early legal training was comprehensive, covering civil litigation, real estate, personal injury, wills, estates, and family law at a full-service firm. Kristy's commitment to easing family separations and divorces is paramount, advocating for Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation to avoid conflict. Yet, she stands ready to defend her clients' rights in court when necessary, boasting successful appearances in both the Alberta Court of Justice and the King’s Bench.

Beyond her legal commitments, Kristy's passion for literature shines through her writing, with publications in the Calgary Public Library’s anthology and contributions to Loft 112's Inner City Stories. Her leisure time is spent exploring the outdoors, from summer hikes to experimental gardening.
