Before diving into his articling, Mitchell honed his skills through a summer assignment with a major independent power generation company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. During this time, he played a pivotal role in producing a myriad of documents, ranging from annual information forms to proposals for government programs and contractual matters.

During his time at law school, Mitchell displayed a strong commitment to community service by volunteering with Student Legal Services. Here, he provided invaluable legal assistance to low-income individuals, showcasing his dedication to making legal services accessible to all.

Additionally, Mitchell showcased his legal prowess on a national stage, representing the University of Alberta at the 2018 Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot. His team emerged victorious, securing the first prize and further solidifying Mitchell's reputation as a formidable legal mind.
