Thomas Valentine

With over three decades in the oil and gas sector, Tom Valentine is a seasoned legal expert. He's not just any lawyer; he's been immersed in the intricacies of the industry, both in the courtroom and in the boardroom.

During his stint in Doha, Qatar, from 2002 to 2003, Valentine served as senior counsel (projects) at Qatar Petroleum. There, he spearheaded several groundbreaking international gas and LNG projects across the globe, from the United Kingdom to India and Spain.

Since returning to Canada, Valentine's work has remained centered on oil, gas, and project development. He's the go-to guy for everything from fiscal regime analysis to joint venture structuring, joint operations issues, purchase and sale agreements, and decommissioning obligations.

But Valentine's influence doesn't stop there. He's a globetrotter, providing legal counsel to various gas and LNG projects worldwide, spanning Asia, Nigeria, South America, North America, and the Middle East. His expertise is sought after, with regular lectures and workshops conducted in major cities worldwide, from Perth to Doha, London to Dubai, and many more.

With an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and LL.B. from Dalhousie University, Valentine's knowledge runs deep. Admitted to the Alberta bar in 1987, he's been shaping the landscape of oil and gas law ever since.
