Leading the energy litigation practice group is Bruce Mellett, whose expertise extends to various commercial litigation areas. With a focus on energy-related disputes, he handles insurance, professional liability, and construction matters. Bruce's advisory spans contract disputes involving royalties, ROFR clauses, and product liabilities.

Bruce's litigation prowess isn't confined to courts; he's adept at arbitration, especially in large insurance and construction disputes. His track record includes successful cases in Alberta and Federal Courts, with a notable focus on aboriginal consultation issues. He's no stranger to administrative tribunals like the Alberta Utilities Commission and the National Energy Board.

Aside from his litigation practice, Bruce offers counsel to physicians on medical-legal matters, including complaints and fee disputes. His legal acumen is rooted in a solid educational foundation, having earned his BA from the University of Western Ontario and his LLB from Queen's University. Admitted to the Alberta bar in 1991, Bruce's journey includes serving as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada.
