In our bustling office, Dan Gilborn stands out as a seasoned partner specializing in commercial litigation, insolvency, and legal malpractice defense. Chairing our Litigation Practice Group, Dan navigates clients through every phase of litigation, from initial stages to trial, appeals, and judgment enforcement.

With a decade of experience, Dan has represented clients at all levels of court in Alberta and even in intellectual property claims in the Federal Court of Canada. Beyond traditional litigation, he excels in alternative dispute resolution methods like mediations, arbitrations, and judicial dispute resolutions.

Dan's journey to our firm includes a stint at Borden Ladner Gervais, where he honed his skills before joining our team in 2014. He brings the efficiency of a smaller firm coupled with the extensive experience of a big law firm, offering clients the best of both worlds.

A true Calgarian at heart, Dan has deep roots in the city, aside from a brief stint in Edmonton for law school. Hockey runs through his veins, having played and officiated for over 15 seasons, including Junior 'A'. He remains a die-hard Flames fan, a testament to his unwavering loyalty.

Outside the courtroom, Dan values family, having been happily married since 2007 with a daughter who shares his passion for the Flames. His community involvement extends to Hockey Alberta, where he served as an on-ice official for over a decade.

Dan's notable legal engagements showcase his expertise in insolvency matters, including his counsel to debtors and receivers in high-profile cases. His contributions to legal academia through publications and presentations underscore his commitment to advancing the legal profession.
