Sarah Aaron

Sarah Aaron's career is a mosaic of diverse legal expertise, particularly shining in commercial litigation with an emphasis on health law and professional negligence. Her journey in law has taken her through the corridors of the Alberta Court of King's Bench and the Alberta Court of Justice, as well as navigating the complex waters of various regulatory and administrative tribunals.

Her academic path was equally illustrious, with a JD from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, earned in 2020, where she honed her focus on health law and policy. Sarah's leadership and advocacy skills were showcased through her roles on the executive committees of both Dalhousie Law Hour and OUTLaw. A standout moment of her law school experience was her semester at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic. There, she championed the rights of clients across a spectrum of issues, from trans rights and family disputes to child protection and tenancy issues, presenting cases before the Nova Scotia Supreme Court and other significant legal forums.

Before her legal education, Sarah's worldview was expanded through internships across Mexico, Argentina, and Bolivia, coupled with a role in the provincial government where she delved into physician compensation and intergovernmental affairs.

Transitioning to her professional life, Sarah contributed significantly to the Calgary office of a global law firm before joining Bennett Jones. Her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, alongside initiatives supporting trans identification and women's rights, underscores her dedication to social justice.

Outside the courtroom, Sarah's life is filled with adventure and exploration. From hiking and skiing in the majestic mountains to traversing new countries, she finds balance in the great outdoors. Her journey is not just about legal battles but also about building connections, whether with her family, her dog, or the global community.

Sarah's educational background is robust, with a BSc (Hons) from the University of Western Ontario and an MSc from McMaster University, laying a solid foundation for her legal studies at Dalhousie University. Her admission to the Alberta bar in 2021 marked the beginning of a promising career dedicated to making a difference in the legal landscape and beyond.
