Ryan Johnson

Ryan is rapidly building a litigation practice specializing in commercial disputes. His expertise covers a wide spectrum of corporate and commercial issues.

Having completed his articling at McMillan, Ryan transitioned to an associate role within the firm. Throughout his legal education, Ryan demonstrated his commitment to community service by externing at the Legal Help Centre of Manitoba. Additionally, he provided legal guidance to startups and not-for-profit organizations through the L. Kerry Vickar Business Law Clinic.

Ryan's dedication to legal scholarship was evident during his tenure as the Managing Editor for Desautels Review of Private Enterprise and Law. This peer-reviewed journal explores intersections between law, business, and humanities, showcasing Ryan's multidisciplinary approach to the legal profession.

His areas of expertise span various industries, including energy, startups, and agribusiness. Ryan's practice emphasizes litigation and dispute resolution, where he leverages his comprehensive understanding of legal principles to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Ryan actively engages in knowledge-sharing initiatives. He has delivered insightful presentations on topics such as business growth strategies and the intricacies of acquiring and divesting agricultural properties at prominent industry conventions.

Ryan's academic journey culminated in his admission to the Alberta Bar in 2023, following the completion of his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba. Prior to pursuing law, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology and a minor in Native Studies from the same institution in 2019.
