In the realm of condominium and real estate law, my expertise spans over four and a half decades, during which I have dedicated my practice to resolving property-related matters for my clients with efficiency and legal acumen. My work delves deep into the complexities of condominium and multi-family property development. This encompasses guiding new projects from the ground up, drafting and interpreting condominium bylaws, structuring corporate entities tailored to the needs of real estate ventures, and providing counsel to condominium boards and property managers on a variety of issues. My services extend to navigating special assessments and securing corporate financing, ensuring a comprehensive legal support system for property-related endeavors.
My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in 1970, followed by a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in 1971, culminating in a Master of Laws from the University of London, England, in 1975. This solid foundation in law paved the way for my admission to the Alberta bar in 1972, marking the beginning of a long and distinguished career in law.
Throughout my career, I have played a pivotal role in the development of numerous condominium projects, spanning residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use properties. My experience also includes acting on behalf of many condominium corporations, assisting them with the amendment of bylaws and the optimization of governance procedures. Beyond the confines of my practice, I have contributed to the legal community and beyond through various teaching roles and speaking engagements, sharing my knowledge and insights into condominium and real estate law. My commitment to the field is further demonstrated by my active participation in relevant legal communities and recognition within the industry.
