Shantale M. L. D’Aoust, hailing from Ontario, brings a wealth of experience to her role as a family lawyer in our Edmonton office. Fluent in French, she pursued her common law degree at the Université de Moncton in New Brunswick, where she also served as the Pro Bono Students Canada Family Law Program coordinator.
After obtaining her Juris Doctor, Shantale ventured to St. Albert to complete her articles and was subsequently called to the Bar of Alberta in September 2021. Her legal journey has been diverse, encompassing general civil litigation, personal injury, and criminal defense before focusing on family law.
In her practice, Shantale emphasizes negotiation and alternative dispute resolution alongside litigation. She recognizes that family legal matters often come with additional stressors, and she is dedicated to guiding her clients through these challenges by providing them with practical options and tailored solutions.
Before embarking on her legal career, Shantale pursued a Joint Honours bachelor’s degree in economics and political science at the University of Ottawa. She also spent time in Lille, France, earning a Certificate in Sustainability and Social Corporate Responsibility.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Shantale is a devoted single mother who enjoys traveling with her daughter. During weekends, she can be found exploring hiking trails with her dog, camping with loved ones, and strumming tunes on her guitar.
If you're in need of legal guidance in either French or English, our team is here to assist you in scheduling a consultation with Shantale.
