David Camp

For over four decades, David Camp has honed his expertise in the realm of Indigenous law, dedicating his career to offering prompt, strategic, and applicable counsel. His dedication has seen him collaborate with an array of clients including First Nations, various corporations involved in resources, development, finance, utilities, and transportation sectors like railways and pipelines. Camp's focus has been on navigating environmental approvals, impact benefit agreements, treaty negotiations, and establishing rights of way. His work also extends to procurement and fostering relationships concerning projects in traditional lands.

Throughout his illustrious career, Camp has played a pivotal role in advising on Indigenous matters related to significant undertakings. These have spanned residential projects on reserve lands, port and LNG developments, as well as initiatives in the transmission, distribution, pipeline, and oil and gas sectors, showcasing his versatile and comprehensive approach to Indigenous law.

His educational background is equally impressive, with a foundational BA from the University of Toronto, furthered by legal studies at the University of Cambridge and Dalhousie University, culminating in an LLB. Since becoming a member of the British Columbia bar in 1981, Camp has applied his vast knowledge and skills across several practice areas. These include Indigenous consultation and reconciliation, business disputes, and matters related to municipal and expropriation law, underlining his commitment to addressing and resolving complex legal challenges in these fields.
