In 2019, Austin emerged from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University, armed with a Juris Doctor and a keen sense of justice honed through rigorous moot court competitions. His prowess in legal argumentation was showcased at the provincial and national levels, participating in the prestigious Arnup, Sopinka, and OTLA Cup Moots, where the intricacies of trial advocacy were laid bare.

Beyond the courtroom and the competitive arena of moots, Austin dedicated his energies to serving the communities of Thunder Bay and North Bay. His volunteer work at various public interest organizations underscored his belief in the power of legal work to effectuate positive change.
