Aaron Atkinson

Aaron, an accomplished insurance lawyer, dedicates his expertise to defending a diverse clientele, including insurers and self-insured entities, across various legal fronts. His repertoire in the insurance sector is comprehensive, tackling cases of property damage, construction flaws, personal injury, disputes over general insurance, and professional negligence, particularly against home inspectors. With a proven track record, Aaron has successfully defended clients in trials and secured settlements in cases involving premises liability, product defects, assault, sports injuries, liability in hosting, and vehicular accidents. Furthermore, his expertise extends to representing clients in appeals at the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal.

Beyond his insurance practice, Aaron extends his legal acumen to physicians, guiding them through civil and disciplinary issues, especially in encounters with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Aaron's academic journey led him to the University of British Columbia, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in 2006 and his Juris Doctor in 2009. The following year, he was admitted to the British Columbia bar, marking the beginning of his legal career.

His leadership and contribution to the legal community are evident through his role as Treasurer of the Canadian Bar Association's BC Branch Health Law Subsection from 2016 to 2020, and his involvement in publishing and contributing to several reputable legal resources. These include the Contemporary Canadian Insurance Law Casebook and the Harper Grey Canadian Insurance Law Blog, among others. Aaron also served as a Director-at-Large for the Vancouver Bar Association from 2013 to 2015.

Aaron's professional affiliations reflect his deep engagement with the legal community, holding membership in The Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association's BC Branch, where he is active in Health Law and Insurance Law subsections.
