Maureen Lundell

Since joining Harper Grey in 1990, Maureen has risen to become a pivotal figure, leading the Family Law Group and pioneering in alternate dispute resolution (ADR) methods. Her expertise in family law mediation dates back to 1985, showcasing her longstanding commitment to the field. With the introduction of the new Family Law Act and accompanying standards for ADR accreditation on March 18, 2013, Maureen swiftly adapted, securing her Law Society accreditations as a Family Law Arbitrator, Parenting Coordinator, and Mediator. Her legal practice is particularly noted for its emphasis on safeguarding wealth through meticulous handling of business and trust valuations, support disputes, and asset division.

Maureen's approach to family law emphasizes the importance of being available and responsive to her clients, ensuring her practice is flexible enough to meet urgent needs. Beyond her family law specialization, she is also recognized for defending professionals, including lawyers and financial planners, against negligence claims.

Her academic background is solid, with both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia, completed in 1979 and 1982, respectively. Her commitment to honing her mediation skills is evident from her varied training, including sessions in Boulder, Colorado, and through the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, among others.

Maureen's leadership extends beyond her legal practice. She has served on various committees and has contributed significantly to legal publications and education, including acting as a former director for the Autism Society of British Columbia and contributing to the British Columbia Family Practice Manual. Her expertise is further recognized through her appointments and memberships in prestigious legal societies and her involvement in community service, such as volunteering with Life In Law.

In 2011, her contributions to the legal profession were acknowledged through her appointment as King’s Counsel. Furthermore, her active participation in the legal community includes being a member of the BC Parenting Coordinators Roster Society, the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch, and the Law Society of British Columbia. Through her diverse roles, Maureen has demonstrated a commitment not only to her clients but also to the broader legal and local communities, making her a distinguished figure in the realm of family law and dispute resolution.
