Michael Kennedy

With a career spanning over three decades, Michael has cemented his reputation in the realm of business law. His role as Associate Counsel within the Business Law Group signifies a wealth of knowledge in public company securities law, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Michael’s advisory capacity covers a broad spectrum of corporate matters, including securities, corporate governance, and general corporate advice, serving both public and private entities.

His expertise is particularly pronounced in the capital markets and M&A domain, where he has successfully represented both issuers and underwriters across various industries such as resources, technology, biotechnology, and manufacturing. Michael's portfolio is rich with experience in initial public offerings (IPOs), reverse takeovers (RTOs), capital pool companies (CPCs), along with public and private financings of equity and debt. His clientele primarily comprises companies that are listed on major Canadian stock exchanges, including the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE), the TSX Venture Exchange, and the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Michael's academic foundation was laid at the University of Victoria, where he earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1984. His legal prowess and dedication to the field were further recognized when he was admitted to the Bar in British Columbia in 1986.
