Timothy Delaney

In his professional role, Tim Delaney serves as a general civil litigation lawyer at Lindsay Kenney LLP, based in Vancouver. His expertise in this field is complemented by his active participation in various legal and community organizations.

Elevated to the position of a Bencher in 2023, Tim oversees the Complainants’ Review Committee and contributes to the Practice Standards Committee. His involvement extends beyond his professional duties, as he actively engages in volunteer roles, particularly within the Canadian Bar Association's BC Branch. His contributions there are diverse: he has been a part of the Provincial Council as an elected member, served on the Audit Committee, and lent his expertise to the Advisory Committee to the Judicial Council. Notably, he has held leadership roles such as Chair of the Legislation and Law Reform Committee and has been both the National and Provincial Chair of the Law Week Planning Committee.

Tim's commitment to the legal community is further evidenced by his tenure on the Executive Committee of the Trial Lawyers Association, and his leadership roles as President and Director of the Law Courts Inn Society. He also played a pivotal role in the Vancouver Bar Association, both as President and an elected member. His drive to make a societal impact is seen in his directorship at Act II Child & Family Services Society, an organization that provides crucial support through counseling and safe housing for women and children affected by domestic violence.

Beyond his professional and community service roles, Tim has generously dedicated his time as a volunteer lecturer for the Continuing Legal Education Society. He also shares his legal acumen with the next generation of lawyers, serving as a volunteer judge for the UBC Moot Court program and offering his services at Access Pro Bono clinics.

Tim's commitment to social well-being extends into the realm of health and sports. He is a Director of the I’m a HIPpy Society, focused on pediatric hip health, and actively participates in youth sports as a coach. He has been involved with the Vancouver Thunderbirds Minor Hockey Association and the Westside Warriors Minor Football Association, coaching minor hockey and flag football, respectively. This diverse range of activities highlights Tim's multifaceted contributions to both the legal profession and his community at large.
