Amanda Willox

Amanda Willox, a seasoned legal eagle, carved her path through the realms of design and psychology before embracing the rigorous world of law. Her journey kicked off at Ryerson University, where fashion design sparked her initial curiosity. However, a pivot to psychology saw her securing an Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University. The allure of law then drew her back to BC, where she tackled the challenges of law school at the University of British Columbia's Peter A. Allard School of Law.

Her pre-law school summers were anything but idle. Downtown Vancouver's immigration scene benefited from her keen insights one summer, while another saw her diving deep into the fight against wrongful convictions with the UBC Law Innocence Project. Here, she didn't just study; she sought justice for those wrongfully accused of murder, battling against the odds to overturn their sentences. Her commitment didn't wane there; she also threw herself into challenging solitary confinement practices in Canada's prisons.

Post-law school, Amanda didn't slow down. She swiftly stepped into the legal battlefield, navigating the complexities of both Provincial and Supreme Courts across the province. Her caseload is as diverse as it is challenging, dealing with everything from violent crimes and drug offenses to fraud and obstruction of justice. Not one to shy away from the grittier side of law, she's become a stalwart in prison law, advocating for clients in disciplinary, parole, and segregation hearings.

Her knack for tackling serious cases didn't go unnoticed. At Pender Litigation, where she's been honing her skills as an associate criminal defence lawyer since 2019, Amanda collaborates with seasoned attorneys on high-stakes cases, including murder and criminal organization charges. Her legal acumen isn't just confined to Vancouver; she's also made her mark on Vancouver Island.
