Tariq Ahmed is an integral member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, specializing in providing legal guidance in areas related to energy regulation and construction disputes. His expertise extends to representing clients in various legal settings including courts, arbitrations, and mediations. Tariq's experience includes working on cases before key regulatory bodies such as the British Columbia Utilities Commission, the Alberta Utilities Commission, and the Canada Energy Regulator, previously known as the National Energy Board.
His advisory role primarily focuses on clients within the energy and resources sectors, where he deals with regulatory issues, large-scale construction projects, and general civil litigation matters.
Before embarking on his legal journey, Tariq pursued and completed a degree in electrical engineering. This educational background has provided him with robust technical skills and a practical, business-centric perspective that significantly benefits his legal practice.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Tariq is actively involved in industry-related organizations. He serves as the director and treasurer for the Young Professionals in Energy's Vancouver chapter. His previous engagements include being a member of the convocation at the University of British Columbia Vancouver's Senate, where he also led the standing committee on Student Appeals on Academic Discipline for over six years.
