James Rees

In 2016, after rounding off his foundational legal training at a Vancouver-based insurance defense firm, James became an integral part of our team, stepping into the role of associate. With a broad spectrum of expertise spanning across the insurance litigation landscape, he has adeptly handled cases in construction, personal injury, and beyond. His legal practice now predominantly focuses on navigating the complexities of subrogation, personal injury, professional liability, and property damage. James adeptly represents clients across both spectrums of plaintiff and defense, making appearances in both the Provincial and Supreme Court of British Columbia.

James is known for his proactive engagement with clients, striving tirelessly to ease their worries and boost their confidence regarding their legal matters. His communication skills are both clear and effective, complemented by his pragmatic approach to problem-solving, ensuring swift and favorable resolutions for his clients' cases.

When he's not diligently working, James immerses himself in a variety of sports. He is passionate about basketball, soccer, golf, softball, and rugby, not only participating but also coaching basketball. His love for music sees him frequently attending concerts, and he cherishes the moments spent in Vancouver's lush outdoors.

James's academic journey led him to earn a J.D. from Thompson Rivers University in 2015, following a B.A. in Political Science (Honours) from Queens University in 2011. Since being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2016, he has been an active member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Vancouver Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association, showcasing his commitment to his profession and community.
