Anita Yuk

At Gowling WLG's Vancouver office, Anita occupies the role of associate within the Business Law Department. Her expertise spans the complex terrains of tax and corporate law, where she lends her knowledge to a diverse clientele. Among those who seek her guidance are multinational and local corporations, budding entrepreneurs, established professionals, alliances of various forms, entities enjoying tax exemptions, innovative startups, and international clients, navigating through an assortment of industries like mining, real estate, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, technology, and life sciences.

Her knack for problem-solving extends to resolving conflicts related to regulatory issues and disagreements among shareholders, leveraging her proficiency both inside and outside the courtroom. Anita excels in formulating strategic advice for organizational structuring, navigating the intricacies of tax implications during mergers and acquisitions — especially those involving overseas affiliates — and consulting on corporate affairs such as restructurings, governance, financing options, and international deals.

Anita's commitment to community and professional development is evident through her participation on the board of Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon and her active involvement in Gowling WLG's Vancouver office's Recruitment Committee and the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council.

Her journey with Gowling WLG began in 2016 as a summer intern, followed by a stint as an articling student the subsequent year. Anita's academic achievements include graduating with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan with a JD, and earlier, securing a BSc from the University of British Columbia. Her linguistic capabilities encompass fluency in both English and Cantonese, allowing her to connect with a broader spectrum of clients.

In 2018, Anita was officially called to the Bar in British Columbia, marking the commencement of her legal career and her dedication to serving a wide array of legal needs in her chosen fields of tax and corporate commercial law.
