Emily LeDue

Emily E. LeDue, serving as an associate within Dentons' Real Estate group, enriches the Vancouver office with her expertise. She adeptly navigates clients through the complex landscape of real estate development and transactions. Her advice spans a wide array of areas, including the buying and selling of properties, overseeing both commercial and residential projects, orchestrating financing and leasing deals, and managing subdivisions. Emily's journey with Dentons began with her summer and articling periods at the firm, setting the foundation for her current role.

Her professional journey is marked by notable experiences, such as acting as Canadian counsel for KPS Capital Partners, LP in its significant purchase of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope Inc. from CRH Plc for roughly $3.45 billion. She played a pivotal role in Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation's acquisition of the Vancouver Aquarium, a major tourism and attractions operator in the US, from the Ocean Wise Conservation Society. Additionally, Emily provided her expertise to a confidential client, a premier global tax services and software company, in its acquisition of a top property tax consulting and real estate appraisal valuation firm in Western Canada through an asset purchase agreement.

Emily's excellence has not gone unrecognized. She was awarded the Powell Gilbert Prize for the 2nd Best Written Submissions at the 2019 Oxford Intellectual Property Moot and celebrated for having the Top MSc Thesis at Dalhousie University by the Canadian Psychological Association in 2013. Her professional affiliations include memberships in the Law Society of B.C. and the Canadian Bar Association, reflecting her commitment to her field.

Her areas of specialization are broad and include commercial development, zoning and planning, real estate finance, and the nuances of real estate leasing, among others. Emily's educational background is equally impressive, with a JD from the University of British Columbia in 2020, complemented by a PhD in Zoology in 2017, an MSc in Neuroscience and Psychology in 2012, and a BSc with First Class Combined Honours in Biology and Psychology in 2010 from Dalhousie University.
