Emma Irving

Emma Irving is a senior associate at Dentons in Vancouver, working in their Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. She’s been practicing for over a decade, handling all kinds of commercial and regulatory disputes. Her work focuses on contract disputes, admin law, class actions, personal injury defense, and product liability cases. Basically, if there’s a complex legal mess, she’s the one to call.

Emma’s got a lot of experience in the transportation and mining sectors—think derailments, maritime claims, and mining disputes over joint ventures or mineral rights. She’s also tackled cases involving BC’s Trucking Commissioner and Gold Commissioner. If it’s about trucks or gold, chances are she’s been involved.

On top of that, she’s worked on estates litigation, helping both individuals and financial institutions navigate tricky situations. Before joining Dentons, she clerked at the BC Supreme Court, which is a solid foundation for her practice.

Some career highlights? She’s represented a kid in an estate battle involving a $10M fortune and five kids from five moms (yes, really). She’s defended clients in class actions about price-fixing and privacy issues, and even helped a mining client reverse a ruling that could’ve cost them their mineral tenures.
