Taahaa Patel

In 2020, Taahaa emerged from Thompson Rivers University, not only with a Juris Doctor degree but also with prestigious accolades under his belt. His exceptional grasp of Contract Law earned him the Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP Prize, along with Course Prizes in both Contract Law, and Legislation, Administration, and Policy. His academic brilliance shone brightly, positioning him within the elite top 10% of his class during his first year. Beyond the confines of classrooms and textbooks, Taahaa ventured into the practical arena of law as a student clinician. Within this role, he dedicated his expertise to assisting refugees and small-business owners, navigating their legal challenges through the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program. This hands-on experience paved the way for his subsequent involvement with Owen Bird, initially as a summer student and later, completing his articles there, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning legal career.

Taahaa's life outside the legal world is equally rich and diverse. His leisure time is often spent with his nose in a book, reflecting his deep love for reading. Football stirs an intense passion in him, showcasing his fervent enthusiasm for sports. Additionally, he exhibits a keen interest in fashion and menswear, indicating a well-rounded personality that transcends his professional achievements.

His journey through the academic and legal landscape culminated in a significant professional milestone in 2021, when he was officially called to the British Columbia Bar. His area of specialization, litigation, benefits from his comprehensive academic foundation and practical experiences, positioning him as a promising figure within the legal community.
