Patrick is deeply immersed in the realm of private sector mergers, acquisitions, and private equity ventures. With a keen focus on serving both Canadian and global clientele, he extends his expertise across a variety of sectors such as information technology, financial services, healthcare, and agriculture. Beyond mergers and acquisitions, Patrick offers guidance on a plethora of corporate and commercial issues, including but not limited to, corporate restructuring, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, managing outsourcing projects, and navigating complex financing deals.

Before his tenure at Blakes, Patrick honed his legal skills within the corporate and commercial division of a Winnipeg-based mid-sized law firm. His pre-law school career saw him dabbling in the private sector and engaging with federal government projects, laying a versatile foundation for his legal practice.

Patrick's legal acumen has been instrumental in several high-profile transactions. Notably, he facilitated Luminate Capital Partners' acquisition of Conexiom, followed by strategic divestitures to ICONIQ Capital and Warburg Pincus. His involvement didn't stop there; he played a pivotal role in Luminate's purchase of Axonify, guided HG Capital through its acquisition of Benevity, Inc., and steered HP in acquiring Teradici Corporation. His portfolio of successful deals further includes orchestrating GAF's takeover of FT Synthetics, aiding A Thinking Ape, Bananatag, and Sierra Wireless in their respective sales, and assisting Crafty Apes with their purchase of CVD VFX.

Moreover, Patrick's expertise facilitated Venn Growth Partners' fund formations and investments, supported Corix in selling Tribus Services to Olameter, and guided Abbotsford Concrete Products in their asset sale to Oldcastle APG. His strategic advisement also benefited Norwest Venture Partners, PRA Group, Highline Produce, I-XL Building Products, Fulcrum Capital Partners, Beijing BDStar Navigation, Dominion Lending Centres Inc., Hackman Capital Partners, and R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company in their respective acquisitions, sales, and corporate restructuring endeavors.

An active contributor to legal scholarship, Patrick co-authored an insightful bulletin on amendments to the BCBCA, emphasizing the importance of a transparency register to identify significant individuals, published in February 2020.

Patrick's educational background is as impressive as his professional endeavors. He was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 2015 and the Manitoba Bar in 2014.
