Paul, a seasoned attorney, excels in the realms of corporate and commercial legislation. He serves a diverse clientele, ranging from tech startups to established entities in retail, natural resources, and the biotech sector.

Before embarking on his legal career, Paul gained significant experience working for the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. This unique background provided him with a broad perspective and a deep understanding of regulatory and policy environments, which now benefits his clients in navigating their legal challenges.

Throughout his practice, Paul has been instrumental in facilitating major transactions. Notably, he represented the shareholders of Pacific Energy Fireplace Products Ltd. in their company's acquisition by the NIBE Group. He also played a key role in JX Nippon Mining & Metals' purchase of eCycle Solutions, and assisted New Water Capital in acquiring Bagwell Supply Ltd., a firm specializing in the design, development, and distribution of flexible intermediate bulk containers.

Paul's expertise was pivotal in enGene Inc.'s merger with Forbion European Acquisition Corp., a strategic move that propelled the company into the public domain, securing roughly US$138 million in the process. Similarly, his guidance was crucial in D-Wave Systems Inc.'s public listing through a merger, which valued the company at US$1.2 billion.

His proficiency also extends to the private equity sector, where he has advised a US-based fund on acquiring several leaders in wood processing equipment, as well as on the purchase of a prominent HVAC equipment distributor.

Further illustrating his versatility, Paul facilitated Later.com's acquisition by Mavrck, backed by Summit Partners, and has provided ongoing legal advice to Organic Ocean Seafood on corporate and financing matters. His efforts have also supported TricorBraun's strategic acquisitions of Vetroelite and Merlot Packaging, alongside advising biotech firms on various corporate issues.

Paul's legal acumen is backed by a solid educational foundation, including a JD from Thompson Rivers University and a BSocSc (Hon.) from the University of Ottawa. His admission to the British Columbia Bar in 2021 marks a significant milestone in a career dedicated to navigating the complex legal landscapes of corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity sectors.
