Her early career was shaped by her tenure at Alexander Holburn, where she honed her skills during her articles before advancing to the role of an associate within the firm.

Melody's academic pursuits in law school were distinguished by her leadership and involvement in key initiatives. She held the prestigious position of Executive Director for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, demonstrating her commitment to legal aid and community service. Additionally, her keen interest in international law was reflected in her active participation on the VIS International Commercial Arbitration moot team. In her final year, she further broadened her legal horizons through a Judicial Externship, offering her invaluable exposure to the workings of the judicial system across British Columbia as she worked closely with Provincial Court Judges.
