Patrick W. He then pursued law at the University of Victoria, graduating in 2014 with notable recognition for his excellence in evidence. His time at the university also saw him actively involved in the Environmental Law Centre clinic, providing legal counsel on matters of national importance.

Patrick's formative years were spent in Sri Lanka, where his exposure to diverse cultures and global issues shaped his worldview. Before embarking on his legal career, Patrick ventured into software development, showcasing his versatility and keen adaptability to technology—a skill that he adeptly applies in the courtroom to his clients' benefit.

One of Patrick's significant contributions to the legal community is his involvement in the landmark case B.W. v. Canada (Attorney General), where alongside colleagues, he fought for the rights of elderly inmates in federal prisons, arguing for their access to healthcare and safety. This case, certified as a class action in January 2024, underlines Patrick's commitment not just to individual compensation but to systemic reform.

Similarly, in Araya v. Canada (Attorney General), Patrick's advocacy extended to combating systemic discrimination against Black inmates in federal prisons. This effort, recognized in December 2023 with the certification of the class action lawsuit, further cements Patrick's role in pushing for institutional changes within Canada's correctional system.
