Kelly Wynne

Originally from North Carolina, Kelly swapped the muggy climate for the Bay Area's vibe in 2019, eyeing a law career. Her upbringing in a single-parent household, coupled with early employment from age sixteen, honed her understanding of unique familial adversities.

Kelly's career trajectory veered towards law after stints as a paralegal in debt collections and a role at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Her inclination towards family law solidified post an introductory course during her advanced paralegal certification. Law school further cemented her path with initial internships in dependency law.

Her professional journey evolved in a boutique firm specializing in family law and estate planning, primarily aiding the LGBTQIA+ and polyamorous communities. Post-licensure, Kelly escalated to a junior attorney position within this firm. The private sector's allure waned as Kelly transitioned to a nonprofit, dedicating a year as a staff attorney tackling family law, criminal expungement, and civil matters for underprivileged clientele.

Identifying as a polyamorous queer woman, Kelly infuses cultural competence into her legal practice, resonating with non-traditional family units. Outside her legal endeavors, Kelly's life is enriched by her two cats, Steven and MooMoo, rescued from a pizzeria. Her home also boasts a ten-gallon aquarium, teeming with aquatic life. Leisure times see Kelly immersed in Fortnite and Magic the Gathering.

Her academic credentials trace back to North Carolina State University, where she majored in Political Science. Later, she earned her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in San Jose, diving deep into social justice law and actively engaging in related campus organizations.
