Traci Pickering

Having earned her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University in 2000, where she not only led as the Senior Technical Editor for the Computer Technology Law Journal but also received accolades for her prowess in legal research and writing, Traci embarked on her legal career with a deep reservoir of expertise. The same year she completed her studies, she was admitted to the California State Bar, marking the beginning of a distinguished legal journey. Initially, Traci joined the ranks at Gray Cary, a prominent corporate law firm known today as DLA Piper. Here, she honed her skills in the intricacies of securities, corporate transactions, and the complex web of tax laws, mergers, and acquisitions from 2000 to 2002. Despite her success and recognition as a standout recruit, Traci found her fulfillment in the legal profession lacking.

Driven by a desire for a role where she could make a more personal impact, Traci transitioned to specialize in family law in 2002. Her exceptional understanding of the unique challenges facing blended families, drawn from personal experiences, fueled her passion and dedication to this field. Nearly five years into her practice, she co-founded Mello & Pickering, LLP with Jennifer Mello, a colleague and friend, where she has been able to fully engage in the work she loves.

Traci's approach to family law is both comprehensive and compassionate. She partners closely with her clients, exploring every possible legal avenue and fighting tirelessly to secure the outcomes they deserve. Renowned for her negotiation prowess, Traci often resolves entire cases within mere hours, always guided by a strong ethical compass. Her academic background also includes a Bachelor of Arts in History from San Jose State University, achieved with honors in 1996.
