Hailing from the East Bay Area, Kelsey Hickman embarked on her academic journey at California State University, Fresno. There, she honed her intellect, graduating with honors in Political Science and supplementing her education with Mass Communications and Journalism. Her college life buzzed with activity, notably her participation in Kappa Kappa Gamma's Delta Omega chapter.

Her ambitions pulled her back to the Bay Area, leading her to Santa Clara University’s School of Law. At Santa Clara, Hickman distinguished herself, engaging deeply with the Women & Law Society and the Black Law Students Association, and exiting with a Juris Doctorate, her academic prowess recognized by a Magna Cum Laude honor.

Santa Clara Law's halls bore witness to Hickman's burgeoning interest in family law. A pivotal internship under Judge James E. Towery at the Santa Clara Superior Court's Family Justice Center provided her a court’s-eye view of family law’s intricate dynamics. This exposure crystallized her career path, steering her academic focus towards relevant courses and earning her the Witkin Award in Negotiations.

Her professional ascent began at Hoover Krepelka, LLP, where she initially served as a Law Clerk. After acing the California Bar Exam, she swiftly advanced from Post-Bar Law Clerk to Associate Attorney, eventually reaching Senior Associate Attorney status in April 2023.

Beyond her legal achievements, Hickman carries her Bay Area roots proudly, passionately supporting the Giants, Warriors, and 49ers. She cherishes Sundays spent immersed in football and family, with a dash of fantasy football rivalry.

Her bar admission in California and the awards she collected, including the CALI Excellence of the Future Award in Labor Law and the LARAW Excellence in Research and Writing Award, reflect her dedication and skill in her field. Her journey from a Political Science and Journalism student to a recognized legal professional underscores a career marked by ambition, academic excellence, and a commitment to her community.
