Born and raised in San Mateo, California, at the Mills Memorial Hospital, Nafiz M. Ahmed spent his formative years in Burlingame, refining his competitive spirit on both the junior varsity and varsity football teams of Burlingame High School. His leadership skills shone as he captained the varsity wrestling team. Post-high school, Nafiz pursued higher education at the University of California, Davis, where his academic journey was distinguished by his role as a justice on the U.C. Davis Supreme Court. Here, he penned the majority of opinions, showcasing his budding legal acumen.

His tenure at U.C. Davis was marked by a profound affinity for the Aggie community, yet his ambitions propelled him to graduate within three years, eager to delve into the realms of law at Santa Clara University's School of Law. It was here that Nafiz's passion for constitutional and criminal law ignited, particularly through his participation in the Honors Moot Court.

Transitioning from academia to professional life, Nafiz co-founded Ahmed & Sukaram, Attorneys at Law in 2006, where he has since been advocating in the arenas of criminal and white-collar law. His practice spans a variety of legal challenges, including criminal appeals, drug offenses, fraud, and more, demonstrating a commitment to justice and legal integrity. While his professional life is demanding, Nafiz finds solace in physical activity, regularly boxing and surfing to maintain balance. His personal life is equally fulfilling, spent striving to be an exemplary father and husband, accompanied by his cherished American and English Bulldogs, and unwinding with UFC fights or 49ers games.
