In a recent notable advancement within the legal profession, a group of distinguished solicitors has been selected for elevation to the judiciary. This prestigious list includes:
Stephanie Coggans, an esteemed solicitor with a background in legal aid,
Fiona Brennan, known for her legal acumen,
Catherine Hayden, a solicitor with a notable track record,
Philip O’Leary, a respected figure in legal circles,
William Aylmer, a solicitor with extensive experience,
Adrian Harris, a legal expert with a broad understanding of the law, and
Michael Jnr Connellan, a solicitor renowned for his legal expertise.
In addition to these selections, the Government, during its session on 25 July, consented to the nomination of the Honorable Mr Justice Brian O’Moore from the High Court to a higher role in the Court of Appeal.
The legal fraternity also sees the inclusion of barristers Nicola Jane Andrews, Monika Leech, and Michael Ramsey, who have been nominated to serve as ordinary judges in the District Court.
This reshuffling in the judicial landscape comes in the wake of a vacancy in the Court of Appeal, prompted by the elevation of Ms Justice Aileen Donnelly to the Supreme Court in June.
Stephanie Coggans, another Trinity College Dublin graduate, has a distinguished career in law. She completed her education at the Law Society in 1992 and became a qualified solicitor in the same year. Currently, she is the managing solicitor at the Legal Aid Board's Monaghan Law Centre, where she has made significant contributions to legal aid and justice.
